Eric S. Grodsky has extensive experience advising private and public institutions and litigating on their behalf, and counseling them on employment and labor matters.

Mr. Grodsky has worked with private employers, not-for-profit organizations, school districts, charter schools, and municipalities in matters concerning Labor & Employment Law, Litigation, and Education Law.  With more than 20 years of experience in private practice, government, and education management, Mr. Grodsky brings legal skill, policy insight, and operational experience to navigating high-stakes disputes and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Grodsky regularly advises employers on compliance with laws such as Title VII, Title IX, the ADA, the FMLA, the Illinois Human Rights Act and the Illinois School Code, negotiates and reviews complex contracts, conducts workplace investigations, and engages in collective bargaining. He has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts, as well as before the EEOC, National Labor Relations Board, Illinois Human Rights Commission,  Illinois Department of Labor, and the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. He delivers practical solutions grounded in a deep understanding of both the law and the institutions it governs.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Grodsky served as Deputy General Counsel at the Illinois State Board of Education, where he led legal work on educator misconduct, procurement, data privacy, and state-level education reforms. He also oversaw a team handling compliance and regulatory oversight for charter schools and other statewide programs. Earlier in his career, he was a regional director for a charter school network, where he helped launch and lead one of Chicago’s highest-performing charter schools.
Mr. Grodsky earned his J.D. and B.A. in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ohio.
